The Next Level: Supporting Today’s Court Reporting Students (3.02, 3.10) Presented by Vanessa Johns (.15 CEU) Course Description: Picking up our discussion of the court reporting student experience in Kentucky, this session will examine three key areas that impact student success: strategies for adult learners, the finances of court reporting school, and self-advocacy for professional growth. We will explore how to approach learning in an online educational environment, prepare for the financial investment of court reporting school, and support students in defining and developing their professional identity. Attendees will reflect on their own educational experiences and connect these principles to certification preparation and meaningful support of today’s students.

USING TECHNOLOGY TO WORK SMARTER, NOT HARDER (3.04, 3.05) Presented by Jess Myers (.1 CEU) Course Description: In the post-COVID world, navigating new technology has become second nature to most, but it isn't without challenges. In this session, we will learn how to utilize PDF programs to digitally mark and compile electronic exhibits with ease. We'll explore the benefits of an annotation program used for proofreading to eliminate paper and ink waste in addition to allowing more convenience. This session will walk through many of the features commonly requested in Zoom remote depositions and allow for Q&A time for specific issues.
